No, I provided tutoring to all struggling and beginning readers, who I feel can benefit from my services. If your child does have a diagnosed learning disability, IEP, or 504, sharing that information before we begin tutoring can help me to tailor our sessions to best meet the needs of your child.
Not for reqularly scheduled sessions. However, if there is a scheduling issue and a make-up session is needed, weekend times could be a possibility depending on the student and tutor's availability.
I offer tutoring in two blocks. School year tutoring is offered from Mid-September to Mid-June, Monday - Friday. Summer tutoring is offered from the beginning of July to late August, Monday - Thursday.
Yes, while I recommend a minimum of two sessions per week, I also understand that this may not fit in every families' schedule or budget. When we discuss your child's tutoring needs we can determine together the frequency that works for your family.
Yes, like all skills, increasing your learning/practice time is likely to improve your results. Providing the right intervention, more frequently, is beneficial for struggling readers and could be the right fit for your child. We can determine the best plan together during your consultation. We can also adjust as we go!
