At Literacy Illuminated my goal is to help beginning and struggling readers develop the foundational skills they need for a bright future. I believe that ALL children CAN learn to read and spell, when they receive the right instruction. To me that means systematic, multisensory, explicit literacy instruction, grounded in the decades of scientific research on how our brains learn to read.
My primary offering is Orton Gillingham tutoring. This methodology is tailored to meet the needs of dyslexic students, however, it can be a great fit for all learners. If your child is struggling with decoding, fluency, and/or spelling, this type of instruction is likely what they need to find success! Look at the Tutoring Options page for more details about Orton Gillingham Tutoring, as well as, information about other tutoring services I offer.
